I worked on my first packaging project six months after starting my design career and learned an enormous amount in a very short amount of time. Applying those lessons for different clients has lead to great success for their food packaging.

McSweeney's Jerky & Meat Snacks

Agency: Rebox – A B2B Brand Distillery

McSweeney’s Jerky & Meat Snacks needed a refresh after their last packaging work failed to gain much notice. Within our agency, I worked to create a design system that could be used for over 30 SKUs in multiple different packaging formats.

Big Chief Beef Jerky

Agency: Rebox – A B2B Brand Distillery

Following market feedback which rejected their longstanding logo of an Indigenous member in full headdress, Big Chief Beef Jerky sought our help to redo their logo, and revamp their entire packaging line. Using a subtle topographic map to create some texture, and retaining their highly visible Orange and Purple brand colours, the new package promotes their Big Taste for Big Adventure. The packaging line encompassed more than 20 SKUs from seven different package formats. We also designed a unique Road Trip Box that highlighted Canadian destinations in every province and territory.

Britestone Farm Fresh Eggs

Agency: Rebox – A B2B Brand Distillery

When Britestone Hutterite Colony was taking their first steps into the egg marketplace, they needed a package that would stand out and speak to who they were. While the design has undergone revisions since the original work, the Hutterite hen has remained a strong mark for the brand.

Kneehill Agriculture Eggs

Agency: Rebox – A B2B Brand Distillery

Kneehill Agriculture is a new Hutterite colony (split from Britestone) and they needed a package design that would be completely independent of the Britestone brand. With an initial run of two products totalling four SKUs, the design was built with future flexibility in mind.
