Print & Advertising Design

For some reason, advertising is always where my head went first when I thought about Graphic Design. After eight years of working in the industry, I can now appreciate that it’s only one part of the puzzle. Finding the balance between images, shapes, and typography is one of my favourite parts of design.

Grimm's Fine Foods Summer 2022 Promotional Campaign

Agency: Rebox – A B2B Brand Distillery

A part of the Direct Plus Food Group portfolio, we won the work for Grimm’s Fine Foods following our years of successful work with the McSweeney’s brand. This was the first major project I worked on for Grimm’s. My mood board for The Spirit of Summer won the campaign direction. We built out several deliverables for placement in grocery stores across Western Canada, highlighting the give away of several Blackstone Griddles.

My Role: Campaign Ideation, Art Direction, Image Selection and Editing, Layout, and Design, PPT Template Design, Client Engagement

Not seen here are the several different versions of in-store contest-specific header cards, table tents, etc. that were used. Also not seen here is the PPT deck we built to sell the campaign to the sales and marketing teams.

The word mark developed to be the "brand" for The Spirit of Summer campaign. It was developed to stand on its own in any of the Grimm's brand colours, though we principally used the Red and Gold colours.

Stories and Strategies How To Start And Grow A Podcast Guide

Client: Stories & Strategies

Stories & Strategies owner Doug Downs has decades of experience in broadcasting. He wanted a “How To Podcast…” guide for prospects and clients that would demonstrate the value of a podcast while showing how much work goes into producing a podcast. This guide would leverage the “oh damn, that’s a lot of work” factor so those clients would hire him to produce the podcast for them. A quick turnaround over this past summer, Stories & Strategies has a great tool to gain business going forward.

Calgary TELUS Convention Centre 2019 Annual Report

The third and final annual report we completed for the CTCC. This was a barebones version, given that they had only so much of a story to tell in the midst of the first months of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Meetings and Conventions Calgary Trade Magazine Ad

Agency: Rebox – A B2B Brand Distillery

An unused concept for an ad placement in an international Trade Magazine for Meetings + Conventions Calgary. The bold use of the branded red would have immediately set this ad out from all the other ads our research unearthed for this publication. Unfortunately we couldn’t convince the client this would be the best path forward.
