The Family-feeling Criminal Defence Website

Kelsey Sitar and Paweł Milczarek don’t run a typical criminal defense firm. After a Brand Positioning engagement with Rebox, they knew they needed to present this new “Family” brand to the world. Given how stressful navigating the criminal justice system is, our solution was to create a site that felt warm and welcoming, where users knew that someone had their back. Like family. I was responsible for the design, development, and launch of this WordPress site, as well as art directing the firm’s new series of professional, yet warm and inviting, photos that helped tell the firm’s story.

A High Stress Situation Shouldn't Be Made Worse When Accessing Legal Advice

Simplifying the presentation of a caring message was key to ensuring that users of the site would feel like they were in good hands. Maintaining a professional look to the site would help the user build confidence and trust in the firm. And a friendly colour palette would help users know they were in the right place.

We also contributed to a templated look for Pawel Milczarek’s The Defence Toolkit blog, an extensive and deep dive into three criminal law cases published every 1–2 weeks.

Finally, we wanted to include a section that would help educate users on how the justice system worked and what it was like to work with Sitar & Milczarek. Knowledge is power. And it’s been a key component of the success Sitar & Milczarek have had since the site launched.
